Winola Uhrig of Greeley will celebrate her 80th birthday with a reception from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at the First Congregational Church of Greeley, United Church of Christ, at 2101 16th St.
Friends and family are invited and asked to omit gifts.
Hosts of the reception are her children, Cindy and Gregg Yowell of Overland Park, Kan., Jerry and
Elizabeth Uhrig of Greeley; and two granddaughters, Miranda Sharp of Overland Park and Mollie Uhrig of Greeley.
She was born Dec. 22, 1925, in Patter, Neb., to Anna and Charles Herboldsheimer and grew up in that community.
She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1949 and taught school for several years.
On Aug. 15, 1948, she married Loren Uhrig, and they were the parents of two children, Cindy and Jerry.
Mr. Uhrig passed away April 12, 1997. The family moved to Greeley from Hemingford, Neb., in 1968.
She has been an active member of the First Congregational Church and served on the board of the American Cancer Society.
She has enjoyed the friends she made through her membership in the American Association of University Women, Chapter EC P.E.O, Arrula Meeker Questers, Fortune Hunters Investment Club and her bridge group.
